Amid Terror Alerts, European Police Forces Conduct Anti-Terror Raids

Police in France, Belgium, and Germany raided homes of Muslim fighters who have returned from the Syrian and Iraqi conflicts. Belgian police arrested 13 individuals with links to the Islamic State group and thwarted imminent attacks on police stations. German police arrested two individuals. German authorities received information regarding plots to attack the Berlin and Dresden train stations, as well as Pegida demonstrations. France detained 12 people in the Paris region, and two in the Frejus tunnel bordering Italy. The Paris Gare de l’Est train station was evacuated on Friday, January 16 due to a bomb scare.
