Center-Right Wins EU Elections

EPP, the Christian Democratic group of the European People’s Party won 214 seats out of 751 (28.5%) in the EU Parliament elections. It is expected to enter a grand coalition with the Social Democrats (S&D), who won 191 seats (25.43%). French and British Eurosceptic parties – Front National and UKIP – won 24 seats each. EPP’s Jean-Claude Juncker claims the position of European Commission President.
