Declining Confidence in EU’s Economic Future

Only 20% of EU citizens believe that EU’s economy will get better in the next 12 months, according to the latest Eurobarometer released on December 17. That is a decrease of four points from the previous Eubarometer released in July. Trust in EU institutions grew to 37% from 31% in July.  Meanwhile, only 29% Europeans trust their national governments, a two point increase over the past six months. Support for the Euro currency is at 56%. A quarter Europeans are against the Transatlantic Trade Pact, while 58% are in favor.
